Course Descriptions

TI-1: Texas Instruments (TI) Supplier Orientation:

This is a mandatory prerequisite course for all suppliers intending to work at TI facilities or projects. The course provides contractor employees with an orientation to key TI environmental, safety and health requirements such as: fall protection, chemical safety, confined space entry, electrical safety, and other important safety issues. This is a 4 hour course, cost is $45 per attendee.

100: Intro to Hazard Communication:

This course provides an introduction to chemical safety, including: chemical handling techniques, labeling and identification requirements, storage requirements, use precautions and personal protective equipment. This is a 1 hour course, cost is $50 per attendee.

101: Advanced Hazard Communication:

This course provides an in-depth review of chemical safety including: regulatory requirements, how to develop and maintain a chemical identification system, how to read and understand a Material Safety Data Sheet, utilizing engineering and administrative controls to eliminate exposure conditions, and managing the use of personal protective equipment. This is a 3 hour course, cost is $150 per attendee.

200: Fall Protection (Authorized Worker):

This course provides a comprehensive review of fall protection systems and equipment requirements, including parameters and limitations of primary and secondary fall protection systems. This is a 4 hour course, cost is $200 per attendee.

201: Fall Protection (Competent Person):

This course is for Safety Professionals or Managers who will be in charge of planning, design, installation and maintenance of fall protection systems. This is a 8 hour course, cost is $350 per attendee.

300: Control of Hazardous Energy (Affected Worker):

This is an awareness level course on the control of hazardous energy. This course is intended for employees working in areas where locks and tags will be used but who are not authorized to install or use lockouts. This is a 1 hour course, cost is $50 per attendee.

301: Control of Hazardous Energy (Authorized Worker):

This course is designed for personnel required to complete maintenance, installation or demolition on systems or equipment that have the potential to contain a hazardous energy source. Course includes review of requirements and sequential steps for maintaining safe lock and tag activities. This is a 4 hour course, cost is $150 per attendee.

This course is designed for Safety Professionals or Managers who will be in charge of lock and tag activities. Course provides methods for planning, tracking and improving lock and tag activities. This is a 8 hour course, cost is $300 per attendee.

400: Excavations, Trenching and Shoring (Authorized Worker):

This course is designed for personnel who will work with or in excavations. Course includes a comprehensive look at methods of protection for excavations, equipment limitations, and project planning methods. This is a 4 hour course, cost is $200 per attendee.

401: Excavations, Trenching and Shoring (Competent Person):

This course is designed for Safety Professionals or Managers who will be in charge of excavation activities. Course provides methods for planning, designing and maintaining safe excavation projects, soil analysis and system installation techniques. This is a 8 hour course, cost is $350 per attendee.

500A: OSHA 10 Hour Construction Outreach Course:

The 10-hour program is designed to improve knowledge of construction industry safety hazards and protective measures. Course topics are tailored to each companyÕs needs. This is a 10 hour course, cost is $135 per attendee.

500B: OSHA 30 Hour Construction Outreach Course

The 30-hour program is designed to improve the knowledge of construction industry safety hazards and protective measures. There are 20 required topics from fall protection through confined space entry. The remaining 10 hours of instruction are tailored to each companyÕs needs. This is a 30 hour course, cost is $295 per attendee.

The 10-hour program is designed to improve the knowledge of general industry personnel on safety hazards and protective measures. Course topics are tailored to each companyÕs needs. This is a 10 hour course, cost is $135 per attendee.

501B: OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Outreach Course:

The 30-hour program is designed to improve the knowledge of general industry personnel on safety hazards and protective measures. There are 20 required topics from walking and working surfaces through ergonomics. The remaining 10 hours of instruction are tailored to each companyÕs needs. This is a 30 hour course, cost is $295 per attendee.

This course is designed for personnel who will be directly involved in confined space entry operations. Course contains a detailed analysis of the sequential steps necessary to safely perform confined space entry activities. This is a 4 hour course, cost is $200 per attendee.

This course is designed for Safety Professionals or Managers who will be in charge of confined space entry activities. Provides methods for planning, designing and maintaining safe confined space entry projects. This is a 8 hour course, cost is $350 per attendee.

700: Proactive Contractor Management (line Supervisors Ð Project Management):

This course provides a proactive approach to contractor management. Attendees will learn techniques to identify contractors that have effective safety and health programs and methods for developing and maintaining a world class contractor management process. This is a 4 hour course, cost is $150 per attendee.

701: Proactive Contractor Management (Safety Professionals):

This course provides a proactive approach to contractor management. Attendees will learn techniques to verify the historical ESH performance of contractors. In addition, this course provides a sequential approach to managing contractor performance from pre-bid meetings through project close out. This is a 6 hour course, cost is $200 per attendee.
